April 2019 - Newsletter

Despite the chilly weather, several Corvettes caravanned to Adams for our dinner meeting.  I have to say, it was really great to have them out on the road again!

Spook Hill Bar & Grill did a good job for us.  We had the main dining room all to ourselves.

For some members though, the service was a little slow – but no one seemed to mind.  I think a few even got free dessert for having to wait so long!

Our spring cruise to VanBortel Chevrolet/

Corvette is coming up – on May 11th.  We will meet at the rest area on Rt.81, just south of Watertown, and leave there at 9:00AM.  We’ll take Rt.104 to Oswego, where we’ll have a pit stop, and then on to Macedon.  We expect to spend an hour or so at the dealership, and then take a more scenic route back to Oswego.

Plans are to have a late lunch at Rudy’s on the Lake.  We should be able to order from the menu and receive separate checks.  You may find your own way home from there, or caravan with us back to the Watertown area.

Wayne Harris announced the 9th Annual Two Nations1000 Islands Extravaganza Car Show, May 17-19, held at Cerow Recreation Park in Clayton, NY. Highway Legends is sponsoring the event and all proceeds will go to the Jefferson County SPCA.  For more information go to: www.1000islandscarshow.com

Again this year, Cheney Tire is sponsoring a Corvette Night at the Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville.  The date is Friday, June 14th.

All Corvettes get free admission, parking in the infield behind the grandstands, and free food at the private pavilion.  Plus you get to watch all the races!

The Evans Mills Speedway is under new ownership this season, and they have invited us to attend their Saturday night races on Sept.7th.  We will also have the opportunity to drive our Corvettes on the paved track before the night’s feature races.

Our May dinner meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd at Tully’s in Watertown.

We will be situated in the private side dining room. We can order from the menu and receive separate checks.  I understand they will reserve parking for us.  Tom Cheney is the contact person.

As is our custom, the June meeting will be held at The Admiral’s Inn, Alex Bay, June 26th.
