August 2017 - Newsletter What a great turnout we had for the dinner meeting at
the Waterside in Henderson Harbor! It was a beautiful evening on Lake Ontario for the 57
members who attended. Most would agree that the food was very good as was
the service, considering the number of people to be served. Officer nominations were held, and all current
officers were nominated to remain in office. Voting will take place at the
September meeting. It is that time of year again for you to submit your
suggestions for our club’s charitable donations. Your submission must be
received by the September 27th meeting. I will attach the form
to this newsletter. As John Price was again unable to attend the dinner
meeting to make his presentation on the Kingston Family Fun Fest on Sept.9-10, I
will be sending out what details we have by email. New Members: Allan Burkhard & Roseanne Bowman –
1984 Red Coupe Gary & Nancy Horning – 2016 Grey Coupe We finally had a stretch of warm sunny weather, and
had our first ice cream cruise of the season on August 1st.
Seven Vettes cruised from Watertown to the Trolley in Henderson, where several
others joined us. It was great fun and the ice cream made it even
better! No one was disappointed at Tin Pan Galley on the 5th
either! Thirty-two members and guests thoroughly enjoyed the sumptuous
breakfast fare and beautiful outdoor garden setting. The results are in! The poll we conducted
regarding publishing member contact info on the club website was overwhelmingly
‘NO’. Only 12 members voted ‘YES’, and the majority rules.
However, should you ever find you need to contact another member, just email me,
the secretary, and I will share the information, after receiving permission from
the party(ies) involved. If the situation involves “snowbird” addresses,
you’d be better served to obtain the info directly from the other party, as I
don’t maintain that information. The September meeting will be at Ray’s Pub & Grub at
Sand Bay, on Wednesday, September 27th. We will preselect from
a limited menu. I will be sending out the details by email soon.
Please RSVP to Betsy Jacobs: 315-482-4610 SAVE THE DATE! Dave Wieczerzak is organizing a
fall cruise for Saturday, October 7th. The destination is Big
Moose. Thanks, Dave! It has been suggested that we hold our Christmas
party at Maggie’s and have music for dancing. Since a DJ would most likely
cost money we don’t have, do any of you have a suggestion on how we can provide
good dance music? A venue for the October meeting is still under
discussion. We hope to have it in the Lowville area – maybe the Steak ‘n’
Brew or Ridgeview. SAVE THE WAVE!!!! Non-Club Events of Interest: 9/7-10 – Adirondack Nationals (Lake George) 9/8-10 – Adirondack VetteFest (Queensbury) 9/9-10 – Family Fun Fest Canada, Kingston 9/16 – 20th Annual Clayton Car Show Club Sponsors: Davidson’s Automotive Group, outer Washington St.,
