February 2014 - Newsletter

This short month of February doesn’t leave me much time to get this newsletter out before March rolls in “like a lion”.

Thirty-four members braved the cold and snow to attend the dinner meeting at Art’s Jug.  I hate to have to say this, but most of us were a bit “under-whelmed” by the food and service.  We usually are treated so well at Art’s Jug, that this was quite a disappointment.  Come to find out, the owner was not informed by his staff of our reservation until the last minute, and they had to do some scrambling.  I’ll bet next time we’ll see a great improvement.

Don DiMonda was showing off pictures of his new black on black C-7 convertible!  (Sorry, he didn’t provide one for this newsletter.)  We also learned that Joe Coniglio has ordered a red one!  Rumors were also rampant that Bill and Melodee Doull and Stuart Price are seriously thinking of updating their garages!

Reservations for the March 8th Casino Bus trip are in full swing.  As of the dinner meeting, there were only 2 seats left.  That is really fantastic!  I’m sure everyone will have a great time.

Congratulations to the winners of the “Early Bird” drawing, Roy and Teri Shipman (‘Boxcar’ and ‘Cupcake’).

The date for the Club trip to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY has been set for April 26th – 30th.  Darren Smith has made reservations at the Corvette Assembly Plant for the 29th at 11:30AM.  The rest of the itinerary is flexible, and will depend on the preferences of those who sign up for the trip.  Those wishing to participate may contact either Tom Cheney or Darren Smith.

At the meeting, the owner of the Tilted Kilt will be making a presentation concerning his new business venture: Rust/Check of Watertown.

As the name would indicate, it is a rust proofing product.  Apparently it has been available in Canada for many years, and is quite popular there.

Don’t forget to pay your dues!
