July 2019 - Newsletter

What a beautiful evening Mother Nature blessed us with for our dinner meeting at Bonnie Castle! Most of those in attendance took advantage of the outside seating during the social hour, enjoying the breeze and the gorgeous view of the St. Lawrence River and Boldt Castle.

I’m running out of superlatives to describe the food and service at Bonnie Castle. I heard countless raves and not one complaint. The dessert was absolutely scrumptious! My “chocoholic” husband, Ron, who is on a perpetual diet, and usually forgoes dessert, ate every last crumb!

The following night, Ron and I, and several other NNYCC members, attended a very special EOC event in Kingston. John Price, president of EOC, presented plaques to each of the club presidents who participated in Kingston Corvette Invasion 2018, contributing to its overwhelming success.

The highlight of the evening though, was the video presentation of the C-8 by the president and vice-president of GM Canada, whose attendance at the event was a well-kept secret.

We had 15 Vettes cruise to the Trolley in Henderson on July 9th, for our first ice cream cruise of the season. Great fun! We hope to have one or two more before the summer is over.

I know many of you are going to be disappointed in this next piece of news:

Tin Pan Galley in Sackets Harbor is no longer hosting large parties for breakfast. Our long-standing tradition of a Saturday morning dining delight in the garden is apparently at an end.

Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for the Coyote Moon Wine Cruise on August 8th!!

As of this writing, we have 13 seats left. The deadline is August 1st. before those seats are returned to be sold to the public.

Our August dinner meeting will be Wednesday,

August 28th, at the Waterside in Henderson. Tom Cheney is the contact person: Email: Tom@CheneyTire.com

Phone: 315-783-6840

Details will be sent out by separate email.

Per our bylaws, officer nominations for the coming year will take place at the August meeting. We will also have to discuss what to do about charitable contributions this year, considering our diminished funds.

The September dinner meeting is tentatively scheduled for the 25th at Ray’s Pub & Grub.

Dave W. has agreed to organize a fall cruise for us again this year. He is working on some great ideas. Thanks, Dave!
