May 2015 - Newsletter

We had a terrific turnout for the May dinner meeting at Foxy’s at Fisher’s Landing.  Fifty members enjoyed the spectacular view of the River, some great food and boisterous fun.

Helen Reno won the drawing for an insulated Corvette mug, donated by Davidsons.  Also, Foxy’s donated one of their special hats, which was won by Art Alton.

“Laps at the Glen” on May 17th was a little disappointing this year.  We had 14 Vettes, 7 from our club and 7 from the Ottawa club.  However, the track let us down when they allowed pick-ups, minivans and BMW’s on the track with us, and worst of all they went FIRST!

Needless to say, we were NOT happy campers!  Track officials have assured us this won’t happen again, as they will oversee our experience themselves.

As a whole though, I’d say everyone had a good time.  We had a beautiful scenic trip down to the Glen, led by Wendy Hall of the Ottawa club.  Lunch at the Seneca Harbor

Station, was excellent, and they were gracious enough to accept our last minute reservation.  The restaurant we had made arrangements with was unexpectedly closed.  After lunch most of us cruised on up the east side of Seneca Lake to the Three Brothers Winery, where we enjoyed wine slushies and a live band.

From there, most of our club went home.  Ron and I stopped at the Waterloo Outlets for a little shopping and then joined Wendy and her group for dinner near their hotel in Syracuse.

That was probably the best time we had all day!  What a fun bunch of people!
