May 2018 - Newsletter Well Folks – What can I say about a dinner meeting
that for lack of a better word was “meetingless”! (Our esteemed V.P.,
Darren Smith, coined that word for us.) As you know, we were supposed to have the private
dining room at Tully’s but we were out-ranked by the Special Olympics party.
Having thus been relegated to the main dining room, it was much too noisy and
congested to hold even a short meeting. On the positive side though, the
food and service were absolutely terrific! The portions were humungous!
My dessert alone could have fed our whole table of six! As long as we can
get the private dining room, I’m sure we will be going there again. Our spring mini car show at Davidsons’ and cruise to
Tailwater Lodge was a lot of fun. We got very lucky with the weather.
What was forecast as a rainy/cloudy day, turned into a beautiful partly sunny
day – no rain! Davidsons provided free coffee and donuts. How nice! Tailwater Lodge did an excellent job for us.
Most of us tried out their Tasting Room, and then enjoyed the intimate private
dining room for dinner. The food and service were excellent. One
member couple brought their service dog with them. The dog, Buddy, was
allowed to accompany us into the dining room, where he dined on Prime Rib!
Cute! After dinner, we made our way to All-in-all it was a very enjoyable day. New Members: Tom & Lori Keyes – 2016 White Conv. There are several parades coming up in June and July,
in which we have been invited to participate. E-mails have gone out on
each one and they have been added to the “Non-club Events of Interest below.
If you are interested in any of these parades, and did not keep the e-mail, let
me know and I will send it to you again. The Kingston Corvette Invasion is just one short
month away. John & Heather Price have labored countless hours planning and
organizing this event. It’s going to be a spectacular event! At this writing, we have 7 American Vettes and 4
Canadian Vettes from our club, taking part in the Invasion. That’s great
participation! The June dinner meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
