September 2017 - Newsletter

Our good luck with the weather on meeting night was bound to run out eventually. However, it really wasnít that bad Ė just a few sprinkles here and there, and nice and warm.

We had 61 members attend the dinner meeting at Rayís Pub & Grub. Iím pretty sure weíll be going there again. The food and service were terrific, and the prices very reasonable.

Those present voted to extend the current Presidentís term by one year. With no further nominations for office, all officers were re-elected for another year.

Charitable donation forms were collected and the results will be announced in October.

At the 19th Annual Autos on the River on Sept. 2nd, our members fared very well. Left to right: Fred Phillips, First in Class; Steve Dion, Second in Class; Wayne Harris, First in Class.

Congratulations, boys!

There were several club members at the Clayton Car Show on the 16th, but as far as I know, none won any prizes. It was a great show though, with many beautiful cars to look at. The Monster Truck, Gravedigger, sponsored by Cheney Tire, seemed to be the hit of the show

We had only two Vettes from New York attend the Kingston Family Fun Fest on Sept.9th. I

have to tell you folks, you missed a great day!

We were treated like VIPís all day. We didnít have to pay for a thing, not even food. We were the only non-military vehicles allowed onto the grounds. There was a lot to see and do in addition to meeting many nice fellow Corvette owners. The highlight of the day

was the fantastic Air Show over Fort Henry. It was worth the trip just for that! John Price did a fantastic job of organizing the car show and we wish to thank him and the City of Kingston for inviting us.

Donít forget about the Fall Cruise to Big Moose on October 7th. Please RSVP to Betsy Jacobs by the 2nd. Thanks.

Steve Dion says he is working on obtaining a DJ for our Christmas party at Maggieís.

The October dinner meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October 25th at Boondocks Restaurant in Lyons Falls. An e-mail will go out when the details have been finalized.
