2015 RECOGNITION

 

 

 

The NNY Corvette Club sponsored by the Davidson Automotive Group presented the Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. (VTC) with a check for $500. This generous donation will provide over 1,110 miles of transportation for those in Northern New York who otherwise would not be able to make essential medical appointments.

Pictured above is NNY Corvette Club members Martin Spilchen, Harry Hudson, and Jackie McLeod presenting a check for $500.00 to the Dawn House of Kingston, Ontario.  The Dawn House is a 10 bed women’s shelter, catering to women (and their children) who are in crisis, many of whom are suffering from addiction, homelessness and mental illness.

2013 Recognition

The Northern New York Corvette Club, sponsored by Davidson Auto Group, has donated $500 to the Volunteer Transportation Center.  These monies will be used to support the transportation of veterans and their family members who need rides to medical appointments.  $500 translates into 1,124 miles driven by our volunteer drivers.

Melodee and Bill Doull representing the Northern NY Corvette Club presented a check for $500.00 to The USO on Fort Drum.  Accepting the check are CarrieTate-Meyer, Programs Manager and Molly Manning, Volunteer Coordinator.  The Doulls were warmly welcomed at the center and given a tour of the facility.  The mission of the organization was explained as well as the various services provided for the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division.  It was obvious that the Army personnel in attendance enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and time to pause for a bit of camaraderie. The USO extended an invitation to members of the Corvette Club to stop by for a visit.  They would be pleased to accept any volunteers wishing to help support our troops.

Of special note, the dog (Rider) seen in the photo was recently hit by a car and had to have his left rear leg amputated.  Despite his injury, he was so happy and looked to be in good health otherwise, he was tugging on his leash with great enthusiasm to the point of pulling the woman holding his leash to the ground.
